Project Coordinator is:

Indigital SA, Athens, Greece

Within AdVENt, InDigital will undertake: (a) overall coordination and oversight of project activities and cooperation between the partners as Project Coordinator; (b) digitization of the natural environment of the National Parks in cooperation with the ILSP; (c) development of the virtual web browsing interfaces; (d) development of an enhanced mobile browser application in cooperation with the ILSP; (e) collaboration with all stakeholders in the partnership for on-site pilot operations applications; (f) dissemination and exploitation of project results.

Project Principal Investigator is with:

Institute for Language and Speech Processing (ILSP)/Athena Research Centre, Xanthi Branch, Greece

Within the framework of the project, ILSP will focus on: (a) the three-dimensional representation of National Park points or interest and the creation of a virtual touring environment; and (b) the development of visual identification technology for plant species. In addition, it will undertake the development and networking of a knowledge base of Greek flora, will help to gather information material on forest paths and points of interest and to translate it into English, and will participate in the design of all digital applications, their pilot implementation and the dissemination and publicity actions of the project.

Project partners are:

Sterea Hellas Development Organization SA (OASE), Lamia, Greece

OASE will coordinate on-site pilot operation and evaluation of the National Forest Explorer application, with augmented reality functionality for mobile devices, and will
undertake actions to disseminate and exploit the results of the project in the Region, focusing on attracting local tourism enterprises, cultural, educational and environmental stakeholders as directly benefiting from the results of the project, as well as other Regions with aiming for the future expansion of the project’s results to other regions of Greece. In order to promote and disseminate the results of the project, it will participate in international tourism exhibitions to demonstrate the applications to be developed within the framework of the relevant work unit.

Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems and Forest Products Technology (FRIA)/Greek Agricultural Organization “Dimitra”, Athens, Greece

Within the framework of the project, FRIA will focus its activities on: (a) the recording and evaluation of flora and vegetation in the Oitis and Parnassos National Parks; and (b) the creation of a knowledge base of the Greek flora and vegetation of the regions.
